THE ISLAMIC QUOTES LIBRARY
Editorial & Sourcing Standards
Accuracy comes before volume. A clear reference is part of every reminder.
Qur’an sourcing
Our initial Arabic text uses the quran-uthmani edition served by AlQuran Cloud. Chapter and verse indices are checked during import. The opening basmala is separated from the numbered first verse where the dataset includes it. Every verse links to Quran.com for reading in context.
Translation attribution
Qur’anic English text is attributed to Marmaduke Pickthall and sourced from the en.pickthall edition. A link to the Quranic Arabic Corpus provides parallel translations. Older wording is preserved, not silently modernised. Translation is a rendering of meaning; it is not the Arabic Qur’an.
Hadith verification
Each published hadith has been checked against its linked Sunnah.com entry. We include the collection, reference and in-book number. Excerpts are clearly labelled and link to the complete narration. Inclusion in a Sahih collection is stated where applicable; we do not invent an independent grade or scholarly review.
Scholar quote attribution
Scholar quotations require a verifiable original work or reliable traceable attribution. Unverified viral sayings remain unpublished. The wisdom section currently awaits verified content.
Context and secondary sources
Discovery labels and practical reflections are editorial. They do not claim to exhaust a verse’s meaning. Readers can follow the source links to surrounding passages and available tafsir. We do not publish unattributed interpretations as authoritative scholarship.
AI-assisted editorial work
AI has assisted the site’s development, organisation and editorial reflections. It is not used as the sole authority for Qur’an, hadith or religious attribution. Source text is retrieved from the named editions; it is not generated by AI. “Source checked” describes traceability and wording checks, not endorsement by a religious authority.
Corrections
Use Report an Error on an entry or the contact form. Include the affected wording and a reliable reference when possible. Reports are stored privately for review. A response time is not guaranteed. Content found to have an uncertain source should be withdrawn until resolved.
