Abu Huraira reports hearing the Prophet describe his own frequent seeking of forgiveness. The first-person speaker is the Prophet. The narration says more than seventy; it does not set seventy as a ceiling. It is distinct from the library’s Muslim 2702b entry, which quotes a call to repent with a report of one hundred times.
