وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا

What It Means: Reading in Context
This begins a passage describing the servants of the Most Merciful. Humility and peaceful responses appear alongside worship and other qualities in the following verses. These verses bring together patience, prayer, testing and perseverance. The sequence in Al-Baqarah 2:155–157 names experiences of loss and then describes the response of those who remember their return to Allah. Reading the sequence matters: a short quotation should not erase the reality of suffering.
