What It Means: Reading in Context

This verse continues the reward described in 76:11 for those whose devotion and generosity appear earlier in the passage. Its garden and clothing belong to the description of the Hereafter. Links to 76:8–11 preserve the connection between endurance, sincere giving and divine reward. These verses bring together patience, prayer, testing and perseverance. The sequence in Al-Baqarah 2:155–157 names experiences of loss and then describes the response of those who remember their return to Allah. Reading the sequence matters: a short quotation should not erase the reality of suffering.
